Places to Eat and Drink

Stari Grad offers a great selection of places to eat and drink.

A few places that we regularly use:

Melting Spot coffee shop. On the Riva (quayside).

Fredy's. Just off the quayside in the old town (Ulica Petra Scutteri 1). Good for coffee, juices and healthy breakfasts.

Lampedusa Bar. A great place on the quayside to have cocktails and watch the world go by.

Antica. A very long established restaurant in the heart of the Old Town. Fresh seafood is the speciality.

La Gatina. Outdoor tables in a very beautiful square in the Old Town, near Antica.

Ristorante Pizzeria Alfonso. Family friendly place with a nice atmosphere on Trg Stjepana Radića, where the “mist fountains” are.

Nook Asian-orientated fusion cooking with outdoor seating in a lovely vine and pomegranate covered garden in the heart of the Old Town. It gets outstanding reviews.

Restaurant Vala. A great location for people watching on the quayside.

Velo Misto Garden Restaurant The atmosphere is great. It has a wood fired oven and is a good place for your group to have a traditional Dalmatian Peka, which you should do at least once, but you must order at least 24 hours in advance because it is slow cooked.

Viana Beach. In a beautiful cove on the Kabal Peninsula. It is about 6km from Stari Grad. You can drive there or go by taxi boat. It is a beautiful walk back. 

Žukova. Another cove on the other side of the Kabal Peninsula, facing towards Brac island.
